Shut up and Show Up

Jesus said, "You are the light of the world.".

Then Jesus told the church, "Let your light shine before others so that when they see your good works, they will glorify the Father in heaven."

Christ-followers are better known for what we say than we are about being Christ-like.

It is not that saying the right things and speaking truth is not important. But to a world who has had plenty of opportunities to hear what the church has to say and distrusts the church because of how Christ-followers live, it is not more talk that is needed. What is needed is for Christ to show up through Christ-followers are where the non-Christians live.

That is why we are told to "Go!". Go into the world with the message and the hope of Jesus Christ. Show up in the work place. Show up in the neighborhoods. Show up in the schools. And stop with the talking. Be Christ-like in the real world. Show up wit Christ, live like Christ, talk like Christ, and do like Christ.

What our world needs is for Christ-followers to shut up and demonstrate the glory and the majesty of Jesus Christ through our deeds.

Shut up and show up Christians.
